Havelock Mussel Festival 2013
Saturday 16 March
The Havelock Mussel Festival was once again a successful event, topped off with great weather. Together with live entertainment, the industry marquee and Industry competition's provided something for everyone. The King Salmon Marquee filled up with eager audience members willing to try the samples provided by celebrity chef Simon Holst and local Chris fortune who demonstrated easy ways to incorporate seafood into the home kitchen. Kids were treated to an extended array of activities proving a hit amonst families. We had a great day with you all and thought is was a fantastic way to celebrate all things mussels.
We had some great entertainment lined up this year including -
PAUL MADSEN'S SUPERSTAR SHOW
The superstar show included TEN different shows packed into one! With No1 hits from The Eagles, Beatles, Abba, Queen, Bee Gees, 80's classics and more, this show provided nothing but the hard hitting hits from these legendary bands! It was highly interactive and exciting with a dynamic song selection which got people up dancing!
Ray Woolf & the Mike Walker Trio
Ray Woolf needs no introduction to most New Zealanders. One of our greatest entertainers Ray sang the great swing hits such as Sinatra, Martin and Michael Bublé.
Ray Woolf brought a whole new level of entertainment to the Havelock Mussel Festival, entertaining the audience with such charisma, he was fantastic.
MULLETTMAN

Inspired by power ballads, sports heros, earthquakes and the adoration of his fans, Mulletman crafts his shows with infectious and masterful charm. Life styling the most awesome hairstyle ever in the world, Mulletman captured the audience and had them engaged and laughing. Brilliant performance once again.
Shane Cortese
Yes! He came back for 2013 by popular demand as our Celebrity MC and entertainer. Shane is perhaps best known for his role on New Zealand soap opera Shortland Street and on the hit show Outrageous Fortune. He was also a runner-up on Season 1 of NZ Dancing With The Stars in 2005. Shane is an all round entertainer and we were thrilled to have him back with us again this year for what was another hugely successful event.
Recommended By Your Mom

Recommended By Your Mom (RBYM) a three piece Nelson / Marlborough rock band were our final act performing original pop rock anthems, featuring soaring vocals and a dynamic light and sound production. They were the perfect way to finish with high energy and great confidence. True talent enjoyed by the audience right to the very end.

CHRIS FORTUNE

Also featuring in our Regal Salmon Cooking Demonstration Marquee was our very own local cooking sensation Chris Fortune. With the involvement a few very lucky primary school students from Rai Valley & Linkwater School, he demonstrated his tasty ideas for incorporating seafood into your meals at home. This was a real highlight at the event with people lining up to try the tasters and watch the local master at work.
