Summer Concert Series 2010

Marlborough 4 Fun's Summer Concert Series 2009 was a success once again. We had some fantastic entertainment and great support from the community.

In 2010 the venues will be:

Riverside Concert, Blenheim - 30th January 2010, 11.30am
Last year we changed the format of this annual event to combine it with our Pet Blessing and a Riverside Walk. The event began with the Pet Blessing at 11:30am – 11:45am in the Amphitheatre, lead by Rev Graham O’Brien - for all creatures great and small, we had a great turn out with animals such as, a turkey, dogs, cats and even a goat or two. The blessing was then followed by a walk at 12.00pm and involved fun activities along the river bank, such as find the sliver bones. The concert commenced at 12.45pm back in the Amphitheatre with live music by Rev. Graham O’Brien & Liz McKay, which was enjoyed by lots of people throughout the afternoon.

For the 2010 Riverside Concert and Pet Blessing we are hoping that even more pets will adorn the steps of the Amphitheatre to enjoy some quality family time in the sun. The Blessing will be lead by Rev Peter Minson, great entertainment by New Zealand artist Craig Smith and there will be food on sale by local food vendors.

Pollard Park – 14th February 2010, 5pm
Always a favourite on the family calendar after a busy festival weekend in Marlborough. This is a great opportunity to bring the family down to Pollard Park for a picnic and enjoy some of the quality entertainment we have on offer.

"Trinity" are three dynamic female vocalist’s Ingrid, Tami & Sela. They each have their own unique style and sound that blends effortlessly to form strong powerful harmonic tones. Their repertoire ranges from Easy listening classics, hits of the 70’s, 80’s and 90’s through to the popular songs of today. Enough to get you up and dancing.

Also performing is the Marlborough District Brass Band, who enjoy a high national profile and currently is ranked among the top "A" Grade bands in New Zealand.

Picton Foreshore – 7th March 2010, 2pm
coinciding with National Children's Day
The 2010 Picton Family Fun Day in correlation with National Children's Day – Featuring an “Under the Sea” theme Children’s Corner with lots of activities including face painting, a bouncy castle, balloon animals created by Pom Pom the Clown and heaps more.

Star Dance Academy will be entertaining the crowds and for musical pleasure the Blenheim and Districts Highland Pipe Band will perform, as well as The Noodles.

The Noodles are one of Wellington's busiest professional cover bands, playing 4-6 nights a week in Wellington's top nightspots. Their repertoire ranges from classic rock through to contemporary - from the 1960's 'till today.

So bring the children and have a great day out in Picton!
